RE: The Expectations of Management Behavior

By now all first-level managers at InterClean should be aware that EnviroTech has been acquired. As our president and CEO, David Spencer, mentioned, EnviroTech has been a major domestic competitor in the corporate market and will bring with it a great deal of service expertise. Although this is seen as an asset and contribution to our company, many of our employees believe the merger will bring layoffs. As a result, I want all first-level managers to understand three important issues: their role in handling our employees during this transition, the types of management actions that are in line with employment laws, and the best practices for working within a diverse work environment.
With proper training and an open line of communication, our employees will continue to improve productivity during this merger. Both will act as the starting point of maintaining employee loyalty. It is important to remind our workers we are planning an extensive training for all sales staff in the next few months and after completing the training, they will be more knowledgeable about emerging issues in sanitation, environmental regulation of cleaning systems, and OSHA standards. They will also gain a complete comprehension of how a product works and understand the legal, environmental, safety, ethical and regulatory issues that affect sanitation and cleaning in varied industries and settings. In addition, explain that under the newly proposed solutions/service model, reps will be grouped into multi-functional teams prepared to support InterClean‘s high-quality products with high-quality service. They’ll be instructed in development of full-range service packages tailored to individual accounts.
