The Five Qualities of a Good Teacher

The five qualities of a good teacher I believe are as follows: Motivating Approaches things with variety Knowledge of subject matter Well organized Enjoys and respects young people ` Personally, I feel when a teacher comes to class and all he/she does is literally “read” straight outof the textbook class after class it becomes boring. I find it more interesting when a teacher approaches new topics with variety. It makes the class more interesting and will definitely engage the whole class’s attention automatically. For instance, when a teacher involves students in his example, will catch my full attention.` ` If I see that the person in front of the class is as confused as I am in what they are trying to explain, it just confuses me even more so full knowledge of the subject matter I believe is another important quality a teacher should possess and with that organization is important as well. All students do not learn the same and at times they will need a different explanation than the first one given in class. Only a person with full knowledge of the subject in question will be able to explain the topic differently but ultimately make sure the student understands what he/she is explaining. If your teacheris not organized and constantly forgets to return the students assignments on time or repeatedly make grading errors on test or quizzes, it makes the student wonder if he/she will be as careless with their final gradeor making the correct notes on the students’ performance.` ` Last but not least, respect isuniversal. We should all respect each other in any scenario, for example, teacher;student, parent; child, employer; employeerelationships. In my book, I do not like when I see a professor or student belittle a student because they asked a question he/she might think is “stupid”. We do not all process information the same and might need a little more detail on the topic or just maybe different wording will help too. A good...
