In today’s world, technology is rapidly changing and the flow of information through the web has grown tremendously. Individuals have access to real time information on their fingertips. In the past, individuals would not dream of using the World Wide Web for many things that they now use it for. For example, online shopping has increased vastly over the years. World Wide Web has become the top source of entertainment for many. In addition, the World Wide Web has become a credible source for valid information.

Social Media has also taken huge leaps in the recent years and has become an essential part of many individuals’ lives. The attractiveness of social media is that it makes it very easy for an individual to keep in touch with a network of friends. Social Media also contributes to flow of information on the World Wide Web.

In the past, if an individual would have a bad experience with a certain company, they would tell at least 10 other people. However, though Social Media an individual with the same bad experience could possibly reach about 100 people. This is a direct result of information flow through the Web.

Through the technology changes, consumer behavior has also evolved over the years. Since the change of consumer behavior, companies marketing strategies have also had to keep up with the times. The messages marketers communicate through different strategies are loosing their effects on consumers. Consumers are less affected by the messages that marketers use and the trend points to web messages by other consumers. The trend these days is for consumers to search the product on the web before they purchase the product. Social Media has helped make sharing product information from consumer to consumer easier.
