The way the government has trashed the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution recently, because of the behavior of the police, regarding habius corpus the rights to trail arrests requirement, would never be tolerated by society in the late 60 and early 70 for eaxmple the police are simply obeying policy, a set down by government. The society in the late 60th would not have tolerated policies such as the arrest of vagrancy as used to be common practice. Thinking about wider police presence with authority, doing what it wants will reduce rate of trouble, every city with harsher police laws has a correspondingly higher rates of crime. Back in the days, the police had a close relationship with the community as what can be seen as the police are the public and the public are the police, but because of the reform era of the government, which began early 1900, together with nationwide move toward professionalism, this resulted in the seperation of the police from the community. Technology has also acted in distancing the police from the community as of the past making situation worst for the community and its people today. Crime rates, coruption of the police force have also gone high.
In my community Washington DC, private security has become more prominent in schools, Amtrak station, professional office buildings around the city as well as warehouses, shopping malls, courthouse, Hospitals and airports. Today one could come to understand from safety when siteing a security guard around the corner, it is imperative private security be used in public areas because this portraits a good sign of customer relationship and awareness of safety at first site. Security officers are uniformed, acting personelles who protect properties by maintaining highly visible presence, deterring inappropriate and illegal activities.
