The Future of Nursing Education

Abstract
The nursing profession is forever changing and evolving. This can be especially attributed to evidence based practices in which nursing has been built on for centuries. Evidence that proves to be more effective or more efficient than a current practice typically evolves into a trend that will gradually become the norm in everyday nursing practice. One trend that is plaguing the nursing profession today is the idea that nurses need to be better educated in order to more effectively fulfill the role. Researchers argue that a baccalaureate degree in nursing should be required before one is able to sit for a state board licensure exam. The future of nursing education is changing and many aspects surrounding this issue are discussed along with ways that will make this transition easier for currently practicing nurses that are being forced to pursue higher education.
