The Importance of Coming to Formation in the Right Uniform

Being a member of the United States Army is a job that must be upheld by the men and woman who chose to answer the call of duty. All that I have learned in Basic Training, Advanced Individual Training, and Permanent Party serves a roll in my every day duty. No matter if it’s shooting expert on the M16, learning drill movements in basic, brushing up on your boot shining skills in AIT, or trusting in your fellow solders in permanent party. Lots of things help make a solder from learning the heritage and traditions, to courtesies, to the army values all the way down to serving as a member of a team. The Army values are the foundation for good soldiering in the United States Army. To pick just one value to discuss or to break is difficult to follow without tapping into any of the other seven. A good concept that connects well to my offense is a section of beliefs that helps mold a solder into what he is and that is the 4 R’s. Right place, right time, right uniform, right attitude.. No one is immune to having things go wrong. For some it is an acknowledgment of their peers, for others it is the fleeting fame, for others it is the chance to contribute. It was my choice to join the United States Army so I should soldier up and do what he I to do when I have to. I must know where I am going and why. Everyone needs to feel good about themselves in order to get along with others. One should first look at the mission of each group and the internal workings of each group. An important reason for coming to formation in the right uniform is because when you do you follow the army values. I failed to display some of the Army Values when I didn’t show up to formation in the proper uniform. The army values I failed to display when I didn’t come to formation in the right uniform were discipline, respect, and honor.
