Identify a situation where ISO 9000 standards have been employed to upgrade processes or software systems. Identify the benefits of using ISO 9000. Why it is critical for employees to stay in compliance as they perform specific tasks? How would you handle an otherwise good manager who refuses to enforce the prescribed standardized processes?
ISO 9000 have two different meanings: ISO is the International Organization for Standardization a single standard and a set of three standards (ISO 9000, ISO 9001 AND ISO 9004). The three standards are referred to as quality management system standards (Schroeder, 2008). Once a company decide they need a quality management system that meets the ISO 9000 quality standard a plan should be put into place to control or improve the quality of the product and services to become more competitive. ISO 9000 sets it standard to satisfy the customers’ expectation or the government has mad it mandatory.
Ford Motor Company announces that the WhereNet Corp’s WhereCall real time parts locating system will be installing in the New F150 trucks plant in Dearborn, Michigan at the River Rouge Facility. Ford Motor has now implemented the WhereNet Corp’s WhereCall in all of its facilities in the North American and European plants. The wireless parts system help Ford reduce inventory and increase productivity, with this system Ford can move from a push-based to a pull-based where stock can be put on the line at a certain time. Lean manufacturing have been implemented through this process and allows the parts to arrive just in time (JIT) for assembly (Ford, 2008).
The Operator will be able to press the button on the wherecall when supplies are low.
