The Life of a Teacher

Mrs. Jasmine Nguyen is one of my former professors in National Economics University of Vietnam. Now she is still very young at the age of 35 and has had 11 years of working experience. However, she has had many successes in her career not only as a professor in university but also a well-known researcher with a lot of achievements in her major. Both of her parents are successful and respected economical professors. The inspiration in economics and the vocational choice turned up since her early childhood, from the economic discussion of her parents, and from the various books at home. It helped her to have a clear orientation of her career when she was very young. Through advices and guide from her family, she entered an economics university so as to fulfil her aspiration to be not only a researcher but also a lecturer. When she was a student, she tried her best to study and research macroeconomics as her major. Graduated with an excellent bachelor degree, she became a lecturer and at the same time started her PhD study.
As she grew up in a rich family, according to her opinion, high income is not so important and significant. Her motivation and incentives for the job is social position: becoming respected and cherished professor, a high status in society. Another reason is the opportunity to achieve a creative and active job that matches her interests and help her to pursue her dream about macroeconomics research. Besides, she also appreciates family’s happiness. She considers her family a significant part of her life.
While teaching in university, she receives a lot of comments from her colleagues and students, both compliments and negative feedbacks. Thanks to all that, she could amend bad behaviours and improve herself so as to be a perfect lecturer. Furthermore, the duty of a researcher may make her feel tired and bored. Day by day, she has needed to rearrange the working schedule wisely, the spatial and temporal awareness for her family, friends....
