The Lights at Night

The moon shone brightly that very night though it barely lit my room. My parents had been away for a business trip in Japan for almost a week but I was left behind cause I had to sit for an examination on that particular week. At least, I was successful in persuading my mom not to call up a guardian to look after me with one condition that I regretted which was to pass my examination with flying colours.
There I sat on my desk under the light of my table lamp burning the midnight oil studying at the eleventh hour. Without anyone breathing under my neck, I had managed my time recklessly by reducing my study time and spending most of it on surfing the net. As time elapsed, I got really drowsy and fatigue. I tried drinking caffeine, chewing a bubblegum and listening to my favourite music but none of it worked. It was in vain. At last, I fell asleep.
When I woke up, the sunlight penetrated and came piercing through my eyes. Instantly I realised that I was late for school. Trying to save up time, I quickened my pace towards the bathroom. As it was merely slippery, I fell down in the bathroom. A blue-black bruise could clearly be seen on my right but I had to bare the pain and rush to school without any hesitation. I tried to prepare a simple and plain breakfast but I screwed up the mashed eggs. I was left with no choice but to eat the burnt food. Unfortunately, I spilled my tea on my uniform and I had to change my clothes but the electricity was cut off while I was ironing a new pair of fresh clothes. Desperate for time, I just put on the crumpled uniform and head towards the bus stop.
I boarded the bus in the nick of time and sat on an empty at the second last row on the left. My school would be the fourth stop on the bus route.
