Over the course of its existence humanity has witnessed many remarkable individuals who are responsible for shaping the world as we know it. To answer the essay’s question I was tempted to name several historical and political leaders, who were extraordinary visionaries and relentless super-achievers and who became permanently embedded in history. However, considering a context of a Global Business leadership, I felt compelled to find such an individual in an environment directly connected to the international business community. In my view, such a person must represent a class of global business leaders of our time, who became successful across the continents by making the world a better place. With that in mind and considering my special interest in entrepreneurship, I have chosen Sir Richard Branson, the chairman of London-based Virgin Group.
A dyslexic child with a poor academic record in his early years Richard Branson overcame every challenge that life had set in front of him and managed to become one of the most successful and admired entrepreneurs of our time. While his hard work and voracious appetite for new business produced a slew of companies from airlines and trains to vodka and cola, record labels and mobile phones, even a health bank to store umbilical cord blood, his drive to be the best rather than the biggest made his Virgin brand one of the most recognizable on the Planet.
In my opinion Richard Branson embodies every distinctive trait of a true entrepreneur:
• He does what he enjoys
• He is unafraid of failure
• He views the impossible as just another business opportunity
• He is a tireless promoter of the Virgin brand
• He is a wise money manager
• He worships his customers and takes their point of view as his own.

Without a doubt, all of those qualities symbolize a recipe for success and are worthy of following, but there are many more, which, in my view, separate him from other remarkable business leaders and demonstrate the...
