The worst environmental disaster in American’s history deal with an oil spill since the Exxon Valdez oil spill which occurred in Alaska in 1989. The oil spills of the past where mostly caused by a ship colliding with an object. The worlds need for oil to power half of the world energy. Companies look in remote areas and deeper water for this commodity. When exploring these areas it comes with risk. In this case BP the Larges Corporation in the UK that has many other adventures in energy such as natural gas and wind power. BP took that risk of drilling for oil in one of the deepest part of the ocean knowing that if you drill deep in the ocean the stress of metal are much different than drilling on land or in a shallow part of the ocean. On April 20 of this year a blowout occurred starting a huge fire with a large explosion and sinking BP oil rig the (Deepwater Horizon) in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico. Now the fame must saying “Huston we have a problem” American we have a problem with a news media flash of a huge oil spill is coming deep below in the ocean from an underground pipe that damage during the sinking of the oil rig, it’s going to take months to stop it. In my humble opinion I think the oil company did not plan on possibilities’ on what or could happen if this occurs. This oil disaster that’s leaking million barrels of oil into the sea, where a major cleanup focus and effort to stop this oil leak. Everyone has ideas on how to stop the oil and coming down how much it’s going to cost. That should not be the issues on how much it’s going to cost. The world waste money every day on things not needed why should it come down to how much make it happen. But no one has look at the big picture. The environment; where society makes their living and the survival of the wild life species such as fish and animals.
