What would the world be like if everyone would stop looking for “the person in the mirror” and look for their friends based on what was on the inside of someone and not on the outside? Would it make the world a better place to be? Would there be less crime and hate towards each other? I think about these questions all the time. I would like to see less hate towards each other just because of where we come from and our race and ethnicity. Just because this is how we look on the outside does not mean that we all act alike. Take the time to get to know someone before making a “first impression” decision.
The leaders in the community treat people with respect and do not choose due to race but do the other members of the community? The other members of my community treat the other people like me as if they would like to be treated, that is if they are white. In my community, there are some people who are for having a variety of cultures around here and then there are some who think that it should only be white people because they are racist. In my community there are many different cultures and some people around here like that there is different things to learn about and introduce to their families. Around the area many people stick to their own groups for the most part, for example, ifyou are African American you hang out with other African Americans and do things that they like to do, and if you are Upper Sioux Indian, you are with other Upper Sioux Indians. The majority of the different cultures sticks together and do not go outside of their “safe zone.” I am not sure if it is because some people, no matter what race they are, are racist and only like members from their culture group.
The local media around the area does a good job at not looking to the same type of people. In my community the only media there is, is the newspaper. We do not have a radio station that I know...
