The Regulators
1. A storm comes to Poplar Street and all of the power goes out. Then the red van from the Power Wagons comes and kills the paperboy, Cary Ripton and the Reed’s dog, Hannibal. Later the yellow, black and pink vans from the Power Wagons come and kill
Mary Jackson on her way home from work and injures or kills many others. When night falls early, the remaining residents find themselves in another world. Everyone gathers in the farthest room from the street in two houses for safety and works together to come up with a plan for survival. Jim and Dave Reed, Collie Entragian, Johnny Marinville, and Steve go on the greenbelt behind the houses to look for an escape route. When the world begins to change and look like a kid drew it, the greenbelt changes into a desert. Then Jim Reed kills Collie Entragian and then commits suicide. The reason all of this is happening, is a “thing” possesses an 8 year old autistic child and calls itself Tak. The child is Seth Garin, who lives on Poplar Street and is obsessed with western films and

How can you throw fire? How many people did the dog save? |
Motokops 2200, a futuristic cartoon which helps Tak get inspiration.

“‘Escape!’ Jan screamed back, a voice inside her head instead of from the TV, but just as urgent. ‘You’re not just about out of time, you are out of it! Escape, Aud! Run! Escape!’” (135). | Audrey is determining if it would be in her best interest of her safety to stay with Seth/Tak who is getting stronger or to run. Audrey should run now or Tak will probably kill her. Why didn’t Tak kill her earlier? |
