Advertising is a message usually used to influence people to buy good products. It is perhaps the most well known form of promotion. We are bombarded by thousands of ads every day in newspaper, on television, the radio and internet. Also we can see advertising around cities and main streets. All sorts of advertising should be short and catchy (Athansidais, I 2006), which means in the minimum of time they should make biggest influence on people. Businesses invest a large amount of money in advertising companies in order to make their products well known. The companies that do advertise for their products they should have a great patience. They should not think they waste their money by advertising, because they will get money by ads in an early future, and their consumers will be increased. "Half the money I spend on advertising is wasted, and the trouble is, I do not know which half." This is popular quote generally attributed to either John Wanamaker or William Lever. Sellers should create a plan to successfully market their businesses and products. They do this plan by advertising (David, H. & Bangs, J. 2007).
After civil war, in 1996 the industry of advertising developed in Kurdistan. In this time, some foreign advertising companies came to Kurdistan and brought this industry. At the beginning, Kurdish advertisers were generally produced manually using calligraphies and poor techniques in advertising. After the US-led liberation of Iraq, the demand for advertisements increased as a result of international trade exhibitions and the election campaigns. Nowadays, the advertisers are using digital photos and developed techniques with high quality of ads, and also computer design has contributed to the development of advertisements. Ads put new aspect in Kurdistan and Iraq. Democratic advertising and using advertising for anti-terrorism are the most popular ads among Iraqi media now.
