As the elections are still going, people are thinking a lot about this year’s president. Obama and McCane are head to head with this election. I’m not really following the debates and speeches, but if I were able to vote, I would vote for Obama. People would probably say, “Oh, because he’s black, right?” No, I wouldn’t vote for him because he’s black. I think he’s reasonable with what he would have to do if he was elected president. I think that he would do well handling the war, global problems, and the economy.
Obama would be able to handle the war because the war has been going on since 2003 and we seriously need to end it. He wants to bring our soldiers back in at least two years and end this gruesome fight. He might have a few ideas that will surely help end the war soon. McCane might also do the same thing, but he’s probably only good with the military. Constant fighting is what we don’t want for a long time.
For the global problems, both McCane and Obama are facing the fact that we do need to control the use of pollutants so we won’t cause more global warming. Polluting the air with exhaust from our vehicles is a major problem. Obama and McCane both agree that we have to stop this, which is rare to have both sides do this. They both may agree about this issue, but it seems like Obama is looking like he’s able to do such a thing to help out the environment.
As for the economy, I think Obama can definitely handle this. Now that the stock market has gone down tremendously, many companies are being shut down and jobs are unavailable. Obama would probably be more dependable on how we handle this problem. If he does, everything may go back to the way it was and companies can go back into business. I don’t think that McCane would be able to handle this because his ideas of doing so are not all that convincing. I suppose that’s why his votes are going down a bit.
