Topic: The three major tribes that makes up Nigeria.
SPECIFIC IDEA:
To inform my audience how the three major tribe that makes up Nigeria came into existence, which are Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba.
CENTRAL IDEA:
Nigeria is made up of three largest ethnic groups or tribes which are the Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba. The word tribe defines a particular people’s mode of doing things in terms of ethnic, religion, life styles, food, social responsibilities.
MAIN POINTS:
The Hausa’s are rated as the biggest tribe in Nigeria .They came into existence after a man escaped his father’s wrath and found himself among some set of people that later became the Hausa’s of today. This people were guarded by a particular snake that prevented them from getting water from their stream six days in a week, there after the man who became their leader met with a blacksmith who made a knife for him which he used to conquer the snake and in appreciation to this he was presented the princess as a wife, and they gave birth to seven sons that now became the major Hausa states of today. The Hausa’s are the Northerners, about 90% of them are Muslims and their favorite food is called Tuwo Shinkafa.
The Yoruba’s are the second largest tribes in Nigeria, from ancient the Yoruba spiritual heritage made it known that the Yoruba tribe are unique set of people who were actually created at Ile-Ife .Yoruba people remain one of the most traveled and advanced in West Africa to this moment. They are the southerners and westerners in Nigeria,50% of this people are Christian and the 50% are Muslims their favorite food is called Amala or Lafu.
The Igbo’s are the third largest tribe in Nigeria, they are the Nigeria industrialists, they are the business men The Igbo myth of Origin tells how they originated from Nri, the myth narrates how Eri, the hero of the Igbo people descended from above with his wife Namaku, he sat on an ant-hill as the land was waterlogged.
