The World Facing Hunger
The purpose for my paper is to give my reader a better understanding on what third world countries and our own country has to go through every day in terms of hunger.
Some topics I will be writing about is what people who go through starvation every day get to eat, if they eat anything, where they get the food from, and how much food they get to eat. Children is another topic I will be writing about because many people do not know that 22,000 children die in one day from hunger related causes, which is a child dying every four seconds. Some other topics I will include in my paper is which country has the highest death rate from hunger related causes.
My interest in this paper is being able to teach others about something that is a big issue, but gets forgotten all the time. I would like to have my readers think twice before throwing out food that does not need to wasted, or when they go grocery shopping to buy what they know will be eaten. I do not think it is fair that children and adults have to go every day starving and not knowing if they will die today or not over something that should not cause death. I feel that reminding others of how many people out there are starving should make them think twice about food choices and the really should be grateful that they do not have to go to bed hungry and they do not have to wake up every day questioning if they will die today or not from starvation.
I do have some background knowledge on what I will be writing about. I know that there are 925 million people facing world hunger today, and that our country alone has 36.3 million people starving. Of those 36.3 million people in America, 13 million of those people are children. As I mentioned before,...
