The World

The World

People frequently strive to improve the world, the place we live in. However, it is stressing that I still find the world a little different from what I want it to be. There was a time when I was a kid, when I saw my grandmother overwhelmed with grief. I asked her why she was dejected. She told me that she heard news that her brother, who had been living in North Korea, had passed away. I felt extremely sorry for her because I knew that they had been separated since decades ago during the Korean War.
It isn’t just my grandmother who had to suffer being separated with her family member from the Korean War. There are thousands more. There had been efforts of making a place for their momentary convention, but it didn’t happen often, while the difference between the North and the South had been increasing and increasing, where now, everyone knows the difficulty of reuniting the two countries that had been taking two different ways; one took communism, and the other took capitalism. It is true that I don’t have any family member whom I had to be separated with by the border in between the North and the South, since the Korean War took place way before I was born, I am still a Korean, and I can feel the sorrow of people caused by the separation, from the TV, newspapers, and internet. I hope the day of reunion would exist, in a time not so far away.
