Ted Bundy
Theodore Robert Bundy was born November 24th, 1946 in Burlington, Vermont. His mother was 21 when she had him. Ted's mom never told him very much about his dad except that he was in the military and they only dated a few times. Ted was in foster care for two months while his mom and his grandparents decided what to do with him. Once they decided to keep Ted, his grandparents told everybody he was their adopted son. Ted knew who his real mom was, but everyone who didn’t know was told that she was his sister.
When Ted was three years old, his Aunt who was only fifteen, said she awoke to find him slipping butcher knives into the bed beside her under the covers. She told him to leave and took the knives back. She said no one in the family did anything about this.
The older Ted got, it became more difficult to hide his secret mother. So his mom moved to Washington where she met and married John Bundy. Ted was four years old at this time. He was adopted by John and his new parents had four children together.
Ted did well in school. His teachers complimented him on his good grades. But they also noticed Ted's inability to control his bad and violent temper. His friends remember that Ted was someone who would usually avoid fights. But when he was provoked he “exploded with violence and anger”. Ted was a Boy Scout and attended church regularly. He also had a part time job and maintained good grades. Ted only dated once during high school because he was shy.
It was around this time that Ted began sneaking out of the house and peeping into windows. He occasionally disabled a woman's car to make her more vulnerable, without actually doing anything to her. He found this type of behavior sexually arousing. He also began shoplifting for expensive items and told his mom that they were gifts.
