When I hear the word theology, I think about the nature of God. I believe the word theology means the study of religious beliefs and God. I remember growing up and hearing my grandma talk about the study of God, and how important it was to study our Christian beliefs. I never heard my grandma talk about theology, instead she made sure her family lived by Christ and was attending Church every Sunday. I didn’t hear the word, theology until I was in Sunday school years later. I believe the history of the Bible and the ways we teach and learn the word of Christ, are also part of the word theology. But since I have not attended Church in several years, I could be wrong about the meaning of this word.
Besides a passing grade, I hope to learn more about the Bible over the next eight weeks. I went to church faithfully as a child, but as I grew older I stopped attending Church. I have never lost my faith in God, but made excuses for not going. I recently joined a church that I love. One thing I hope to learn throughout this course is God’s word and I want to become stronger in my faith. And I also want to know more about the Bible and educate my children more. I believe growing up in a Christian home made me a better person, and I couldn’t be happier with the decision to attend my new church, as well as continuing my education at Liberty University.
