Theory assignment Task 6.
As a teaching organisation, it is vital to keep certain details on record to be able to plan and deliver a relevant and comprehensive course. There are also documents which are required to be kept by Law. Things like Risk Assessments and Health and Safety procedures are required to show that you are constantly thinking about the welfare and wellbeing of the students, staff and members of the public. In our organisation we have several forms and documents that are required by our contractors.
We are sent referral forms which detail the learners personal details, any previous qualifications and experiences, a statement of what the learner wants to get out of their time with us, where the young person wants to go once the course has been completed and it also gives some detail of any extra support or special needs required for the learner to be able to achieve the level of work to pass the course.
We also carry out an Induction process which requires the learners to complete and sign other forms such as a confidentiality policy, a medical information questionnaire, Our own Vocational Training Registration Form which covers equal opportunities, a signature sheet confirming that they have taken part in and understood the health and safety induction which is carried out with them at the start of their course and they are also involved in constructing and developing (with guidance) a student contract. This is basically a set of ground rules and codes of conduct which is then printed off and signed by the student and placed in their portfolio of work.
We also carry out activity plans with the learners each time they come in. They write out what tasks they are going to complete at the beginning of each day and at the end of the day, they reflect on the work they have carried out and put down anything they have learnt.
