There Is No Such Thing as Perfect Body

There is not one person I believe that has the perfect body; in my mind everybody has flaws. However there are certain people who criticize themselves more than anything and they have a serious disorder called anorexia nervosa mostly known as just anorexia. Someone who has this disorder has an intense fear of gaining weight. Anorexics think about food way to often and limit their food intake even when they are too thin. If you were to see someone walking down the street that was anorexic, you would definitely be able to tell. Their bones would be sticking out, almost as if they were a walking skeleton. However, these people still look in the mirror and see themselves as fat and over weight. Anorexics have serious issues with food and body image.
A person who has this disease is usually quiet about it. Most don’t actually admit that they have a problem, because they feel that they don’t. There are certain things that anorexics do to be scary skinny. Eating very minimal food and working out excessively, even when sick are the first major signs that someone has this problem. Diet pills are usually involved as well as bowel movement pills to urge them to go to the bathroom more. Anorexics also submit themselves to vomiting (binging and purging). They will eat very minimal food such as half a yogurt or a lettuce leaf as their meal and then later on force it to come back out through vomiting. Anorexia nervosa is most common in females, about 90% (Wikipedia). Young girls can start this at such a young age even before they become a teenager and it can carry on through teens and older women as well. Although the majority of anorexics are female there are still 10% who are male who suffer from this as well. Mostly the men have the need to feel “macho” and want to look built and not fat like the muscle magazines. They usually end up just starving themselves or over do it on the working out.
