timeliness

timeliness

Timeliness is a major aspect used everyday by almost everybody. It is used from having a meeting one on one with someone to coordinating a mass group of people meeting together. In the army timeliness is of extreme importance. Everything is scheduled or coordinated by certain times. To ensure people are on time we arrive ten minutes prior to the dead line. By doing that it makes sure that people are here before the dead line so when the dead line hits one hundred percent will be there. There is more than just being at the right place at the right time. On top of showing up on time readiness is also a major factor in coordinating within the army and just coordinating in general. If you are not ready the right place at the right time then it is just as if you weren’t on time. For example today I was location wise there on time but was not in my full kit ready and waiting. Therefore any pause or break taken to allow me to finish getting ready was on me and my timeliness. If you get to a location on time but not ready and everyone is held up waiting for you to get ready, this will not allow them to execute on time all because your timeliness and readiness were off. It is basically the same as if you had gotten ready and showed up late which would have held everyone up. This is how the two run with each other. Timeliness and readiness not only reflect on you but on your superiors also. If your messed up then it looks as if they are messed up because it looks like they failed you by not putting out the correct standard operating procedure to you. It is also a sign of respect towards them that they told you what was expected of you and on your time you prepared and got ready so when the time came around where you had to be some where on time and ready you were.
