In doing this research, the writer wants to know about topical strategies and topic shift markaers that are used by the teacher in theaching the students. The question of the research are:

a. What types of topical strategies that the teachers do mostly use in teaching English as the foreign language for the students?

b. What types of topic shift markers that the English teacher mostly use in teaching English as the foreign language dfor the students?

Nowadays, many people learn another language, especially English besides their mother tounge in Indonesia. In learning language peple usually learn with the teacher in schoolor even go to the course.
