The relational development between Leticia and Orlando using the Knapp model of Relational development.
Initiating: When the baseball came in to the window of the classroom, Leticia picked up the baseball off the floor and walked over to the window to see the coach running over to apolize and find out if everyone was ok. The first encounter when two people notice each other.
Experimenting: Getting to know each other better. getting acquainted by gathering information about one another. Orlando sees Leticia walking over to her car in the parking lot and drives over to her on his motorcycle. He introduces his-self as the New Baseball Coach. Trying to keep the conversation going starts with small talk asking her if she worked out and how nice her tri-ceps were.
After Leticia gets home he has left her thinking about what he had said to her about her tri-ceps as she is looking at her arms in the mirror. He has left an impression on her that she is practicing in the bathroom how she is going to sound when she sees him at school the next day.
Next day, Leticia is in the classroom dismissing her students and starts gathering her belongings to leave. the last bunch of papers she picks upon her desk , she finds a heart shaped note with a poem in it. She starts reading it, thinking how nice, the Coach wrote her a poem.
Now everyday she now can't wait to get to class to see if he has left her another poem in a heart shaped note which, she does find one each day coming into the classroom.
She is really falling for the Coach and she is in the class room passing out a test paper when she hears the Coach talking loud to his base ball players. She is watching him from the classrooom window as he demostrates how they look on the field. Orlando sees her watching him and lowers his voice but smiles up at her.
She is now at the point she wants to take this relationship further but he is only leaving notes but she wants to have him checked out first. She goes home and...
