The crazy war stories from the past often haunt many war veterans and historians showing a dark horrific side of war the public often does not see or experience. The torture many soldiers endure is cruel and against many treaties The United Nations and countries have put up but is still being used today. Though suppose a terrorist knows the location and placement of a bomb that is going to go off and will take the lives of many unsuspecting people. The terrorist will not talk willingly he will not tell anything; however, a fellow crew member believes with a little torture or incentive you can get it out of him. Do you believe in the scenario torture would be acceptable to save the lives of many?
Certain situations call for certain actions and for the better of the world in certain situations torture is indeed necessary. Where as in others the torture is just mean and cruel. A prison camp for prisoners of war is built to house captive soldiers for the opposing side. This in a war effort is a good tactic taking away soldiers for them to put on the lines or having exchanges for things possibly. Now if a country were to not feed or abuse these soldiers for amusement would be cruel and tasteless, as Japan did on several accounts in world war two. The also forced these malnourished and starved Allie Soldiers to build a rail road to support japan in is personal gain. Now if these soldiers knew information about a ambush or attacking times of other platoons they may have been able to say no food until were told but by no means stave them to death for nothing. I am not saying that torture needs to be there I am saying it has a purpose and a proper use but random torture of humans or animals is insane and morally wrong such as Saddam Hussein's torture of his own people in Iraq and the Taliban in Afghanistan. Taking a Citizen of a country and electrocuting them is not acceptable especially when the reason is not a genuine true reason.
