Profile:
Institute of Tourism Management was established in 1991 by Department of Tourism Govt. of Uttar Pradesh as an autonomous organization with the objective of imparting Training and Tourism Education so that skilled and trained human resource in the field of Tourism Sector and Hospitality sector becomes available to the trade. It is registered under the Society's Act. 1860. It was a beginning of Tourism Education in State of Uttar Pradesh. ITM is one of the oldest Tourism Institute of India with full support of U.P Tourism.
The Institute shifted to its own building in July 2009 and was renamed as MKITM. The Institute has been constructed by the Department of Tourism, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh at an estimated cost of Rs. 7.00 Crores and it is functioning at Vikalp Khand-2, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow in an area of Approximately 2 Acres.
This Institute was Northern Chapter of Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management, Govt. of India Ministry of Tourism, Gwalior. Now, M.K.I.T.M. is functioning independently.

At present the Institute is having 06 courses.
1. BBA (General)
Duration: 03 years (02 semesters per year)

Eligibility: Intermediate with 50% marks (Gen/OBC) and 45% marks (SC/ST)

2. BBA (Tourism)
Duration: 03 years (02 semesters per year)
Affiliation from Lucknow University
Eligibility: Intermediate with 50% marks (Gen/OBC) and 45% marks (SC/ST)

3. Diploma in Hospitality and Air Ticketing with CRS (DHAT)
Duration: 01 Year
Affiliation from UP Tourism
Eligibility: Intermediate

4. Diploma in Tourism & Travel Management Programme (TTMP)
Duration: 01 Year
Affiliation from UP Tourism
Eligibility: Intermediate

5. Post Graduate Diploma in Tourism & Travel Management (PGDTTM)
Duration: 01 Year
Affiliation from Uttar Pradesh Technical Board
