Abstract
The following project describes in detail the creation of a minimalistic webpage which displays a map of an area and overlays a main road in the area with a traffic layer. The traffic layer is created by using JavaScript, to lay and stroke paths over the main road.
It highlight the paths in either red for busy roads, or green for roads with no congestion. JavaScript determines whether the roads are congested or not by determining the current time in the given time zone. An observation and a diagram are made to determine at which time there is more traffic load on the road, and the outcome of the observation is used to create the functions which the JavaScript uses to highlight the segments of the road. The traffic layer may be switched on and off at the user’s convenience.
A weather widget is present on the side of the page in order to prepare the visitor not only to the congestion they may encounter on the road, but as well as that, the rainfall that they may encounter which may cause more congestion due to slowed traffic movement and accidents.

Introduction
In the modern days, with a lot of cars around, especially in Malta, where the roads, are very dense and narrow, traffic is becoming a real problem, and many people suffer, not only directly from getting stuck in traffic, but also because they may be running late to work or other important business.
Many people suffer from traffic since they leave the house at the wrong time and get stuck in the flow of cars going to/from work.
Jams on the road can also be created by long traffic lights that allow less cars to travel than the flow is. In many cases an accident, or road works may also lead to a traffic jam due to a bottleneck.
Another common issue in Malta is the condition of the roads, with a lot of potholes that create stubbornness in traffic movement, and affects the condition of the vehicle suspension....
