Transgenderism

Transgender is a blanket term that covers all people whose sense of gender identity does not match their physiological sex. For some transsexuals, there is a genetic explanation of this which is usually something like an XXY triplet instead of the usual male XY chromosome pair. For the rest of us, the explanation is less clear. The most probable cause is a variation in hormone levels at a critical point in pre-natal development, probably around the twelfth week, which in turn causes the brain to develop gender characteristics that do not match the physiological or genetic gender of the developing fetus. This assumes that some aspect of gender identity is hardwired into the brain, but considering that structural and organizational differences do exist between male and female brains, for me, this assumption seems reasonable.
Everyone has a gender identity – the inborn sense of ourselves as a being male or female. Most people’s gender identity matches their anatomy. But people who are transgender feel different from their physical appearances. So, most of them think that transgenderism is a deviant behavior which should be controlled in our society. This is because what society expects of us as men, women, boys and girls also affects what we feel about ourselves. Every culture has “rules” about what is expected for men and women. These expectation can include things like clothing, hairstyles and how people should behave or act. These “rules” are mostly unspoken. We know them because we see them all over.
Besides that, there is also one of the reason that transgenderism should be controlled. Some transgender people decide to physically change their bodies through surgery or taking hormones to match the gender they feel they really are. This is because when transgender people become aware that they feel mismatched with their bodies, they may feel confused and emotionally conflicted.
