Describe the major characteristics of your preferred learning style? I believe I have 2 learning styles, visual and verbal. When presented with something new, depending on what is being taught there are times when I will need a visual of it; a picture, image or example. Some characteristics of being a visual learner is the ability to collect information effectively once being shown, take notes during class lectures, discussion or when reading an article or text, and last prefer to read over a written lecture then to sit and listen to it.

List at least three study strategies and techniques you have or will use during this course to increase your effectiveness? Three study strategies and techniques I have or will use during this course to increase my effectiveness would be to first take notes, by taking notes I’m collecting all the important information that’s needed so I can eventually study and learn from it. Secondly, being prepared and focused is important. When knowing there’s an assignment or discussion due its best to get myself mentally prepared to complete it, giving myself 110% undivided attention to my studies so I can actually gain from it. Lastly, being active in class discussion. During discussion we’re not there to be taught but to learn and not just from our instructor but from fellow classmates as well. We can ask questions, share our thoughts and that as well can be beneficial.
