As time goes on the trend of tattoos seem to have an enormous increase over time. Tattoos have been around for a really long time and many people are now starting to get them on their bodies. Many people who get tattoos are teenagers. Teenagers think that it is the thing that they should do but in reality it is a problem they will have the in the long run. Tattooing in teenagers is caused by many things but the most common ones would be out of rebellion, peer pressure and their social status.
One of the countless reasons why teenagers would get a tattoo is because of rebellion. As many teenagers grow up they want to be able to express their individuality by getting a tattoo or a piercing of some sort. By this time they have talked to their parents or guardians about getting a piercing or a tattoo and like many parents they are not okay with it. Instead of listening to the adult and doing as they say many teenagers will go out and get one. This goes to send a subliminal message to the parents from their teenagers that they are not the boss of them and they can do whatever their heart desires. There is many problems that will come later in life such as when the teenager finally grows up and has kids, which will also want to get a tattoo or piercing. As one may assume since the teenager now parent got one at such a young age their kids will not understand why it is not okay for them to get one
As teenagers get older they want to “fit” into the crowd. Thus creating peer pressure among each other. Teenagers are like monkeys, monkey see monkey do. Now and days you can turn on the television set and the media being broadcast will at least have one person in the show with tattoos. So in order for the teenagers to fit in with society they will think that getting a tattoo at this day and age is a good thing and they will never looks back at it during life.
