True Friendship
Have you ever pondered what the importance of friendship is? Or, what the importance of maintaining a close bond is? Friendship is a hard concept to define, people understand the concept of friendship differently, but it is attached with the feelings of sympathy and empathy. In some cases it is transient and finds its end eventually, while in other cases it may last for many years and grow stronger. My personal definition on true friendship is that it’s built on mutual support, communication and love. In life, you will meet many that say they are “your friend”, but reality is that you will make only few true friends. A real friend will reach the extremity of the value for friendship.
Good communication is a necessity with those you value as friends. When you converse with a friend, you show personal interest in their feelings. At the same time, you are encouraging them to express their thoughts and emotions while building trust towards each other. Being an attentive listener is required in communication as well as the ability in expressing yourself with that friend. While communicating with friends, it is important being open, letting them know who you really are, and allowing them the same opportunity to do so. If friends take communication seriously they come to know when the other is in trouble, merely by listening to their “Hello” over the phone. Friends can automatically understand each other’s silence.
Whether it’s concerning money, or advice, a friend will strive to be there for a friend in seek of help. Real friends don’t desert each other when one is facing trouble. Friends challenge whatever the circumstance may be and support each other, even if it opposes the interests of another person. They are there to problem-solve the situation by any means.
