Trusted ID
Released in 2005, Trusted ID has become one of the leading anti-identity theft countermeasures on the market. The Headquarters is located in Redwood City, California. They are funded by two leading venture capitalist firms: Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Opus Capital Ventures. They are one of only two ID theft protection companies recognized by the Identity Theft resource center, a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing Identity theft. They are recognized in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Newsweek and Time magazine.
IDessentials
The IDessentials service built in to Trusted ID monitors your credit daily at all 3 bureaus (Equifax, Experian and Transunion) and provides a credit report with notifications on changes. Credit Scores are also provided. TrustedID gives you the option to place fraud alerts on your credit reports if you are targeted by Identity thieves so lenders contact you if any new credit is issued in your name. These fraud alerts prompt any new lenders to verify your identity before any new credit is approved.
IDessentials also reviews your medical benefit statements to ensure your sole use of medical coverage.
CreditLock
TrustedID offers the service of freezing your credit with all three bureaus at once to streamline the process.
Identity Threat Score
The identity threat score assess and individual’s risk of ID theft by constantly monitoring millions of public and private databases where your personal information is stored. The system analyses patterns that could signify that you have been or about to be the victim of ID theft. Your score, calculated on a scale of 0 to 500, 0 being safe and 500 meaning that you’ve been compromised, indicates to specialists if you are at risk. They will provide assistance in making sure specific steps are taken to prevent ID theft. They recommend that you contact them even in the event of a medium score.
