Truthful

Is it always best to be truthful? From my point of view it’s good to tell the truth but not always. There are times you have to lie, and times you have to tell the truth. The main reason you lie is because you don’t want to get in trouble, or when you have done something bad that involves another person. I have gotten in a situation where it has involved the police officers. It would have gone well if I told the truth form the beginning.
Lying is thought of as the easy way out but, it really is not. Everyone lies if some one told you that they have never lied, they are lying to you. When you tell a lie you are lying to the person and also lying to your self. So just tell the truth and you’ll feel better. I lied to my brother when I took his Xbox 360 game. He asked me “did you take my game”? I said no knowing if I said yes I would get in trouble or gotten in a fight with him. But at the end I told him I had it and gave it back and he was a little mad but it went better then I thought. Telling the truth got me out of trouble.
One day my sister left the house to hang out with her friends when my mom told her not to go anywhere. When she got home my mom was waiting for her, and asked her where she has been. My sister answered at my friend’s house working on a project. So my mom calls her friends and told her she wasn’t with her. She got so mad because she lied to her. So she grounded her for a week.
So tell the truth if you know it’s not going to get you in trouble. If you lie make sure that the reason you lied is not going to get you in more trouble. Telling the truth might hurt then lying but, it’s the right thing to do.
