"The Birds" Essay

Imagine, you are walking to your house from your bus stop on a sunny afternoon. All of a sudden, a large group of birds swoop down and attack. The birds just keep attacking and try to peck at your ears and poke out your eyes. They are trying to kill you, and you have no defense. All you can do is run home and cry to your parents, if they are home. This is how Nat and Melanie Daniels felt When the birds were attacking them. All they could do was fight for their lives. If you were in this situation, how would you react? I would certainly run as fast as i can, covering my ears and closing my eyes. Nat and Melanie both use similar techniques. Hiding. This is what they use for a precaution. the birds also have various attacking techniques, and use them at different times. This is a very good idea for various reasons...

Precautions are very important in situations like these. The characters do not take any precautions before the attacks, but when the birds start attacking, the characters then take precautions. One precaution taken (after the attacks start), is the characters both board up windows and doors, just to reinforce them. If the doors and windows were not reinforced, the birds would blast right through them, and attack the families, and they would not have protection. The families also move very heavy furniture in front of the doors and windows. This will provide an extra layer for the birds to get through, giving the families more time to come up with a plan. The humans also stay indoors. This, obviously, protects them from the birds. If they were outside, the birds would constantly attack the humans, and they would eventually die. The humans also stay in groups. Nat stays with his family, and Melanie stays with the Brenners. If they stayed alone, then they have a harder time reinforcing things, such as windows, when the birds break through them. If they stay in...
