Modern Day Gladiators
The Ultimate Fighting Championship is in my opinion one the greatest sports in modern day competition. I think it’s the emotion, hard work and dedication that each fighter puts into being the best that sparks my interest. The sport is so diverse, in that it combines so many different styles of combatives, from boxing, kick boxing, jiu-jitsu, basic wrestling to numerous types of mixed martial arts. Ever single one of these different fighting styles are brought into one caged octagon, where it’s basically two men and ultimately one win. Both fighters give their all too physically harm their opponent.
The sport is growing more and more popular every year. With the recent addition of Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Mirko Cro Cop in Ultimate Fighting Championship 67, the sport is about to get a little more interesting. Both fighters are already well know through out the world as fierce strikers, now they will be known to the Ultimate Fighting Championship as forces to be reckoned with. Cro Cop has a devastating left kick that is known for knocking his opponents out or down to the ground where the rest of the damage is done. Jackson enjoys picking his opponents up and slamming them on the mat. He has some dangerous fist as well, proven at Ultimate Fighting Championship 67, with three right upper cuts to the chin and a couple of left and right hooks to the temple of his opponent, knocking him out in the second round.
Middle heavy weight champion Chuck “The Ice Man” Liddell has his work cut out for him, because the last man to knock him out was Quinton Jackson. Don’t get me wrong Chuck can throw some hard hits. Hopeful after a few fights Jackson will find his comfort zone and fight Chuck once again. My prediction of this match will be the same result as the last one, ending Chuck Liddell, with his back on the mat. With more styles and more talent coming to the Ultimate Fighting Championship, this will definitely be the year to...
