Abstract
This paper tell the use of APA format. It discusses the running head, page numbers, title page, page margins, subheadings, in-text citations, and reference page. The paper is to enlighten readers on how to properly use APA format.
Running Head
The running head is located at the top of each page. Located under the tab insert the user must click on page number and click the field that states different from first page. This allows the user to type “running head: TITLE” and on the succeeding pages only have the title in the header.
Page Numbers
The page numbers are located in the top upper right hand corner. The numbers start with the title page.
Title Page
The title page should include the title of the paper, the author's name, and the school. The running head should be in the upper left hand corner of the page. Type your title in upper and lowercase letters centered in the upper half of the page. It “…recommends that your title be no more than 12 words in length and that it should not contain abbreviations or words that serve no purpose” (Angeli, E., Wagner, J., Lawrick, E., Moore, K., Anderson, M., Soderlund, L., & Brizee, A., 2013). The paper should be double-spaced to include the title page. Under the title, the author’s name should appear first name, middle initial and last name. The titles and/or degrees are not included. Then the school should be listed beneath the author.
Page Margins
The paper should be “…double-spaced on standard-sized paper (8.5" x 11") with 1" margins on all sides” (Angeli, E., Wagner, J., Lawrick, E., Moore, K., Anderson, M., Soderlund, L., & Brizee, A., 2013). The font should not be showy and should be easily readable. Generally 12 pt. Times New Roman font is recommended.
