D2: Evaluate factors that influence the effectiveness of each interaction.
There are a many of factors which had made an impact on the interactions which I carried out with one of my peers, during one of my health and social care lessons. In carrying out the one to one and group interactions I found that there were both positive and negative aspects which has influenced the quality if communication that took place between myself and my partner or class mate. These factors ranged from; social, environmental, emotional as well as the influence of individual needs and communication skills.
Firstly with regards to the one to one interaction, my partner and I had carried out this interaction with was one who is quite outgoing which meant that they were very talkative and willing to communicate back to me. As a factor this had positive effects because my partner was able to reciprocate my communication and therefore produce an active conversation between the two of us. This emotional factor has had a positive influence on the interaction as the communication was able to flow evenly between the two of us so therefore I was not the only one doing the communicating meaning that it was working both ways.
To ensure that this interaction was a success, I ensured that I made eye contact with the other individual at all times which made sure that they knew that I was actively listening to what they were saying, as a result of this the communication was more active as they were ensured of my attention being directly on them. As well as this I also made sure that the use of both non-verbal and verbal forms of communication were being utilised which aided the other person or my partner Danielle in knowing that I was as willing as them to communicate and listen to what they were saying. By having open body language it may allow the other person to feel more comfortable in communicating to me specifically and to others around them, as their communication skills may be improved...
