UPS also known as United Parcel Service, they are a package distribution company. “UPS is the world’s largest ground and air package- distribution company”. [1] They arrived as the world’s largest distribution company with the help of information technology, they use software such as there package tracking system to deliver parcels faster. UPS delivers more than 15 million parcels each day in North America and more than 200 countries.
Complication
One major IT issue surrounding this case could be a virus targeted towards UPS package tracking system. If a virus was to target UPS, all of the information of the package and parcel receiver would be lost. This would lead to no profit because without that information the customers won’t receive any of their merchandise making UPS out of business.

The inputs of UPS’s package tracking system includes the packaging information, customers signature, information about the customer, the destination, and when the package should be arrived. Processing is the conversion of the raw data input from the company into a meaningful scheme. The data is also stored so that they can be tracked by the customer’s account for fast delivery of the package. An output transfers the processed information to the buyers.
