Both World War I and World War II impacted America greatly but for a variety of different reasons. World War I was a short war for the U.S. American’s didn’t enter the war until April of 1917 and it ended shortly after 1918. Majority of World War I was fought in the trenches and it was known for barely moving inches. World War II was fought using much more machinery that could cause mass destruction at a much greater scale. He commented on a situation he witnessed when 3 B-17s blew up and fell from the sky right in front of him. He said “Nowadays, if you come across something awful happening, you always think, “my God, it’s just like a movie,” The mass destruction the soldiers witnessed or administered themselves was drastically different from the poisonous gas and machine guns used in World War II. Prior to the bombing, there had been many laws discriminating against immigrants but there had never been an area to contain and torture American’s based on their heritage. Like the U.S., Canada was also imprisoning their Japanese...
