Us Terrorist

In this paper, I will discuss some aspects of anti-terrorism. I will discuss the history of the tactics and organizations that are proposed to fight terrorists. I will also discuss the current status of the terrorist threat in the United States. In addition, I will also talk about several efforts that are being made to prevent terrorist actions. I will also analyze the effectiveness of the anti-terrorist actions and ways to improve these actions.
An Anti-terrorist that I want to discuss is the Special Operations Forces a group that came about in the last 20 years or so. An organization that are made up of small units from the military, such as the Army, Marines Corps, Navy Seals and the Air Force, that are trained and equipped to conduct special anti-terrorist operations, in an effort to fight terrorists. The operation came about in the aftermath of Operation Eagle, an attempt hostage rescue at the American embassy in 1980, in Iran. The operation was lead by Admiral James L. Holloway III, a retired Chief of the Navel Operations. The Special Operation Command or the SOC has been active since April 16, 1987; with in this time they have participated in many operations, from the 1989 invasion of Panama to the ongoing war on Iraq. (Rother, Larry (December 6, 1996). "With a Bang, Panama Is Erasing House of Horrors". The New York Times.)
The United States alone has many special tactics groups. One of these groups is the U.S. Air Force Special Tactics team. They first came about during World War II, when the first Air Commando Group was formed to support the British General, Orde Wingate. On March 5, 1944, an airborne invasion on Japanese was one of the first invasions from the Air Force operation. Since the last 60 years, after WWII the Air Force's Special Operations Force has participated in special operations in Europe, Africa, South East Asia, Central America, and the Middle East in support of U.S. and allied interests” (“Military,” 2008)....
