Argumentative Essay (Exposition)
“Video Games Are Corrupting Our Youth”

In a world of technology, children are constantly getting corrupted by video games. It is taking over our youth by storm and replacing them with addicted mutants completely unaware of anything else. So why is it destroying our youth? Well addiction is not the only problem here. Issues like violence, health problems, online danger, ratings and marketing are all contributing to this. There needs to be a change. A change for the better and ultimately, a different, fresh, new lifestyle for our youth. It must be done to prevent the gaming industry from robbing our youth of childhood.
Addiction is becoming a part of young gamers lives. Their attention is drawn to video games and nothing else. This leads to poor social skills, poor grades and lack of completion of chores. According to www.news.com.au 2 thirds of Australians play video games. In their eyes it is always more “fun” to play video games then do your homework, chores or study. Excessive amounts of playing video games will definitely result in this. More time playing video games means less time for their responsibilities and work. Ignoring these will be the cause of terrible grades and less trust and responsibility. It can be assured, nobody wants this. This is not a healthy lifestyle, at all. We need to make our mark if we want to prevent video games from corrupting our youth.
The amount of violent and graphic content depicted in these video games is mindboggling. These games contain bloodshed, murder, reckless driving, shooting, sex and drugs referenced in them. This is not the sort of example we want to display to our youth. Games like Grand Theft Auto, Call of Duty and Resistance have a high level of violent and graphic content in them. According to www.news.drive.com.au, playstation gamers make dangerous drivers. Whats really unsettling though is that, these are the sort of games that our youth are drawn to and enjoy! Disgusting...
