When people hear the word, “war”, many people view war as an organized army of men and women who have responsibilities to carry out such as defending the nation they are fighting for, and eliminating hostile threats. These people could be considered as being on the defensive side of war. However, there is another side of war. If one is a part of a nation who is invading other countries, they could be considered as being on the offensive side of war. War is also visualized as being very graphic, deadly, and violent. Unfortunately, more often than not, this horrifying fact about war is quite true. Clearly, there is more to the word, “war”, than what meets the human eye.
There are also many other words that have the same implications as the word, “war”. One such example would be the word, “fight”. Similarly, both violent injuries and death can occur during both a fight and a war. However, these two words are very different. War typically involves a long-term struggle, involving thousands and thousands of people on both sides of the war. Many times, there are also people caught in between the two sides during a war, which would be innocent civilians. This can also result in serious injury, or death for the civilians. A fight, however, is typically a short-term action or event, usually involving fewer people than a war would have. Both a fight and a war can have the same consequences, but war is over a lasting period of time, involving much more people, and usually more deaths than a fight would cause. Money also plays a huge factor when fighting any war. Wars are definitely not cheap, either. Large amounts of funds must be readily available to pay for the soldier’s time, food, housing and also daily living necessities. A large amount of money is also spent on weapons, ammo, fuel, and new innovations to defeat the opposing side.
