The fantasy or animation genre, is a film that contains science-fiction and at times comedy. The fantasy film is pure escapism where its characters live in in an imaginary place. This is what makes them very popular among young children and at times it is its story and plot that makes them popular among adults. There are many types of fantasy movies not only cartoon types, there are also historical dramas, documentaries and even movies that represent issues like economic depression such is the case of the remake of the movie of King Kong in 1993, which are more of the interest of adolescents and adults. Whichever your taste might be the fantasy genre has a large variety of movie types for all ages. A great example of a fantasy movie for younger children is Shrek, which meets all the requirements of the fantasy genre.
The story of this movie is based around the ogre named Shrek. Shrek is an ugly grumpy and smelly ogre, living in a beautiful and peaceful swamp. One day he finds what he believes to be his territory invaded by other fairy-tail characters, such as Pinocchio, Peter Pan, the Three Little Pigs, among others, who have been evicted of their home by the mean and evil Lord Farquaad. One of this characters is Donkey, a very silly and talkative creature. Along the story Shrek and Donkey become friends and confront the Lord Farquaad, demanding his land back. But not willing to give it up Farquaad makes a deal with Shrek, and that is to rescue Princess Friona from the dragon guarding the castle, this in order for him to give the swamp back.
Shrek and Donkey agree to the deal and go on to rescue the Princess, facing many obstacles one which was not getting burned by the Dragon, who also tries to seduce Donkey along their journey. At her rescue Fiona is expectation a handsome and charming prince, and when she sees Shrek she is disgusted at the realization that she is being rescued by an ugly ogre.
