I believe the system failed John Q. You can start with the doctors that failed him when they opted not run more test because of financial issues. They could have gone ahead and done them had they not been worried about what they would be paid. The insurance is also culpable because they start it all with their policies and regulations. I don’t think John failed himself, there were just circumstances that led to him losing coverage he had no control over. As for John’s actions either being institutionalized deviance or individual deviance,I believe its both. Everybody has a choice of doing things the right way or straying of the path and he chose to go as far as he did and to use violence but I understand that’s his kid and they failed to take care of him. Then of course the doctors chose not to run more tests which caused them not to find this in time. They are both correlatedbecause each one leads to another to another. I don’t want to judge all HMO’s the same. I refuse to believe they are all bad. I do believe their policies regarding income and how it’s distributed is a little off but then again if no ones really complaining how can they change. I hope it doesn’t take grand gestures like Johns to see their errors. In this case they did fail the patient; they chose to not run more tests they chose to look the other way. Just because this individual had an HMO doesn’t make him less worthy than those who are rich and can afford the grand insurance policy’s out there. He should have been treated with the care and consideration that everybody visiting a hospital deserves. I my opinion people who are sick have to go through a lot of red tape to get service, I mean come on, shouldn’t we be making it easier for people who are sick or dying, but then again money is what drives most people and companies. I’mtorn on whether I disagree or agree with him taking hostages. From one point of view I can see why I would agree in that with the hostages you’re taken more...
