We are all fighting battles within ourselves.
In each of us I believe that we struggle with a certain aspect that creates a certain like barrier, which separates us from those around us. Whether it is something physical or a mental struggle, we are all fighting battles within ourselves. These may be struggling with problems at home, severe stress, or just insecurity about how we are viewed to others.
Matters such as a problem in the family are quite a difficult emotion to hide. For I have tried, my family life is not how it seems if you are on the outside looking in. So I know the pain and hardships a person can endure; having to watch as your parents fight themselves into a divorce, heartbroken it made me, and it scared me with the thought of “if my parents couldn’t work it out how could I ever solve my own problems?”, I felt alone and torn between the divorce and not having a dad. It is something so hard to disguise, but to a person who doesn’t know behind my smile could be the perfect life. I know that’s what we all want. But truthfully there isn’t always some fairytale ending in every book. So we can’t assume the best until we expect the worst.
Severe stress is another hurdle that I must leap in order to prevail victorious. Being over accumulated by so much at one time can make any man blow a gasket. The stress of college, not having a job or money to pay for the things I need, while also trying to manage a social life is really a lot to process; it’s either good grades in college or to choose a social life. Big problems they seem to me, but to another person I’m the lucky one. Some struggle with the decisions of what bill they want to pay for that day or do they want to have food for dinner, in this case you can only choose one. These are what people face daily; stress can consume us if we allow it to. But it is up to us to make it through to the other side.
