What makes a true Friendship? One thing that makes a true friendship is being able to count on your friend. Like when Johnny killed Bob Ponyboy and Johnny went to go find Dally. He gave them a gun and some money and he told them that he would be up to Jay Mountain to get them. Another thing that makes up a friendship is being loyal to each other. Johnny could always trust that if something was going wrong one of his friends would be there to help him out. The last thing that makes a true friendship is having the courage to stand for one of your friends when they are hurt or getting hurt. Johnny and Ponyboy were in the park by the fountain and the blue mustang pulled up. They got out and one of them started to drown Ponyboy. Johnny killed him with his switchblade.
Being able to count on your friends is a big part of your relationship. When Johnny stabbed Bob they knew they could go to Dally because Dally would help them in their time of need. He took them inside upstairs to his room and gave them a loaded pistol and enough money for a week of food and what else they think they would need. He told them what train to get on and when to jump off. He also gave Ponyboy his leather jacket because his shirt was soaked from when the socs tried to drown him.
Loyalty is another big part of a good friendship. Johnny always knew that when he was in trouble his gang would be there to back him up. When the gang first found Johnny he was huddled up in a corner almost in death but they took him in and cared for him. Also when they found him beat like a cheap drum in the vacant lot they then cared for him. The boys also left the door to their house unlocked so the gang could come in and stay if they needed to. Pony and Johnny were best friends and they were always loyal to each other. When the socs tried to kill Pony boy Johnny stayed there to help his friend.
