Good evening everyone. Tonight at the Home Owner’s Association meeting I will be presenting why conserving energy is important for the environment, and everyone living in it. Energy is needed for everyday use such as, transportation, heating and cooling, manufacturing, and energy which is needed for lighting. Most of our energy resources are nonrenewable, can be expensive, can affect the health of citizens, and can be harmful to the environment, so conserving the energy we have is very important. Our environment and the resources within it need to be preserved for the future generations to come. Two types of energy resources are renewable and nonrenewable energy. Renewable energy is the type of energy that is naturally replenished. Renewable energy is produced from natural resources such as, sunlight, wind, and rain. Renewable energy resources include solar energy, wind power, and hydropower. Nonrenewable energy is energy sources that will eventually be unavailable if not used moderately and is also expensive. Nonrenewable energy is the type of energy that is produced by coal, oil, natural gas, and nuclear energy, which all could be harmful to both humans and the environment. Other examples of what everyone can do to conserve energy are to control the amount of electricity used everyday in both our homes and businesses, as well as controlling the amount of water used. The way that the government could be involved in the conservation efforts is by implementing educational programs on energy conservation, environmental protection, and to come up with different ideas and guidelines for everyone to use in everyday life in order to conserve energy. We can all now see why conserving energy is important for everyone. I...
