Calm your self, the natural response to back talk, and try to defend you self Instead of lashing out, take a moment or two to calm yourself down. Take three deep breaths. Now you are ready to respond effectively. Also give some clear feed back, and tell the other person what the problem or issue is. Let the other person in the conflict know what he has done and how it makes you feel. Try to be specific and keep your comments simple. Example, you might say "When you use that tone of voice with me, it makes me angry." I understand that People can get angry just by hearing the tone of another’s voice, but still this is no reason for physical conflict. Also resist the temptation to retaliate. Name calling is not necessary, it will only make things worse, also don’t egg the other person on. Disrespect can also get you an NJP which is disrespect towards an NCO, which is never a good thing.
