It is said that money doesn't make people happy, love does. But still most of us work for money. If it's true, then why do we need to work, because we should be happy without money? What other benefits can a job give more than a good salary? Is then becoming a pensioner the happiest event in peoples lives, because then the long hard road to happiness is finished?
In my opinion, when someone starts their search for a job, then the most important criterion is the salary and those companies, which are willing to pay more, have a better choice of candidates to choose from. Of course there are people, specially I mean youngsters, who have just finished school and starting their career life, who say that they won't even go outside for less then fifteen thousand for month. It's wrong attitude, because if you don't have any practical experience, then how can you demand that much. When I started my career life, then it was from a very low point. Then year went by and I improved myself loads. I started as a driver with a monthly salary a bit less than average in Estonia that time, but I also took part in other company business and gained knowledge about everything that the company was up to: bookkeeping, logistics and so on. I did well and had a offer for a job as a salesperson. I agreed and got a much bigger salary, but one of the conditions was that salary is related to sales. Unfortunately the sales were good at first and I got used to good salary, but now when Estonian economy and not only Estonian, but all of the world has issues with economy. So it means money problems for people and that means my sales are falling. Now it is very hard to re-study to handle less. So in the end I think that money can bring both: happiness or unhappiness. Because if I think back at the time when I was a driver and got much less paid then now, I was happy enough and I felt even better when I got a new job and even more cash.
